Welcome!
I’m Jenna—a writer who loves encouraging other writers.
I started my career in Education, working first as a high school English teacher and then as a college writing instructor. For many years, I dabbled in my own creative pursuits, but I considered myself more of a teacher than an artist.
Then, thanks to a fortunate encounter with some poet friends and a wise counselor, I began to develop a regular creative practice. I am currently working mostly on creative essays and poetry, and you can find a few samples of my work here.
As I began to write and publish more myself, I also recognized a need for more spaces where writers can find encouragement and community as they do the hard work of writing. In 2019, I began teaching a workshop, Writing Process and Practice, which compiles some of the research-based practices I have learned over my years of working with writers, as a teacher and editor.
I have an M.A. in English, a growing body of my own work, and a keen sense for how to help writers grow. No matter where you are in your writing process, I’d love to meet you and hear about your work.
